Review: Saviour Snack Box

I received my first Saviour Snack Box this Monday! I was in such a hurry to open it that I just snapped photos with my phone — sorry for the picture quality!

They have a promotion at the moment which allows you to get your first box for just 4.90 including p+p (normally 14.99). I have a weakness for bargains, so obviously I had to take advantage of this and try it out. I am a lover of healthy snacks, as I tend to eat often and in small quantities, rather than sticking with 3 meals a day. It just doesn't work for me, especially with my exercise schedule.
The snacks also make it easier for me to stay away from biscuits and other sweet things which are not so good for you when consumed in high quantities.

I had a problem with making my order, as my promotional code wasn't working, and Saviour were incredibly lovely and sent me a hand-written note and an extra snack as an apology! I love little touches like this, the hand-written note just made my day. :)

I love the fact that most of the contents in the box (which is ridiculously cute too) are products I have not tried before, or even seen at shops! While the olives (not my favourites) and wasabi peas (I am a wimp when it comes to anything spicy) are things I would never have picked on my own, I will give them a try! If I hate them, I'll gift the rest to my flatmate, who likes both. ;)

Products I am looking forward to trying the most:
  • nothing but Pea and Sweetcorn (I miss the freeze-dried veg mix I used to buy at a healthy pick&mix shop back in Finland, and I'm hoping this will be similar)
  • propercorn Sweet Coconut & Vanilla (I usually go for salty popcorn, but this sounds YUMMY)
  • frank Blueberry & Chocolate Bar (I love anything with blueberries)

Overall, I am really happy with the box, but I feel that the original price of 14.99 is a bit steep. Especially since you can't choose what's in your box (which is what I love about Graze boxes). Obviously you are also paying for the convenience of having delicious snacks delivered straight to your doorstep, so if you are busy and would be shopping in Holland & Barrett etc anyway, I do recommend trying it though. I personally have the advantage of a cheap student-run health food shop on campus (a box of 4 Nakd bars for £1.30 etc), so financially this is not really worth it for me. I am very excited for the availability of these (and other similar services) though!

Retail therapy

Yesterday I decided to indulge in a little retail therapy (not that I hadn't already received the ASOS goodies from my last post this week, and also ordered Stylish Surprise Apparel & Shoes from Modcloth...!), as a treat after the previous 3 weeks of insanity. Here's what I got!

 WHAT I GOT:
Two tops from H&M (25% off with a card I got from a Glamour Magazine!)
LUSH Let the Good Times Roll Cleanser (which I have been lusting after for AGES)
Loose leaf tea
Granola (Food Doctor granola is SO HARD to get hold of in Aberdeen, so this definitely classifies as a find — thank you TK Maxx. Still no sign of my coveted Spiced Carrot granola though, grrr.)
Top 1: Striped basic t-shirt | Top 2: Red polka dot shirt
I love my classics. Polka dots and stripes are absolute staples of my wardrobe, and you can see me sporting one or the other at least 3 times a week in some form or another. I've been wanting a white shirt with thin black lines for a little while now, so here we go.
I finished my day out in John Lewis, who are offering a fantastic membership deal: free hot drink and cake every month! I had a pot of English Breakfast with a plain scone and raspberry jam. Sadly I could not see any clotted cream, and wasn't offered, so my experience was not quite as quintessentially English as it could have been. ;) The Espresso Bar (which I've been to the past two months) was packed at 4pm on a Saturday, so I opted for The Place To Eat. Not nearly as picturesque, so I did not feel the need to snap a photo of my solitary cream tea (sans the cream!).

A late night OOTD from yesterday!

Sadly the quality is a bit lacking – mostly because I can't be bothered to set up my camera and tripod since my room is not suitable as a background at the moment (hosting people, essay deadlines and a dance show to prepare for have left it in a state).
I also didn't actually wear the mint heels out. Despite my desperate hope for warmer weather, Aberdeen remains windy and cold, so my heels and ballet flats will have to bide their time until warmer weather, when my toes won't freeze. I'm crossing my fingers for Brighton next week.
Until next time,
Jenni

Bloglovin'

I keep telling myself this will happen

'This' being this very blog here. I registered to bloglovin' week or two ago and I've become obsessed with following blogs. I only had a couple that I checked pretty much daily for ages, but now that I've made a bloglovin' account, I seem to be following a new person everyday. I'm feeling inspired, and the unusually sunny weather in Aberdeen is making me think of beautiful dresses and pretty heels.

I made some purchases for spring time for ASOS sale today!

I'm hoping for a pair of reasonably well-fitting black jeans, because it is something my wardrobe really needs.

I love mint green but so far I only own a somewhat ill-fitting dress, a pair of heels and nail polish. So I invested in a skirt!

I'm trying to branch out to white clothing. Nothing screams spring and summer like white lace, right?
Just basic things really, but things that I'm missing. I'm still in the process of building up my wardrobe after dropping from size 14-16 to size 10 (I KNOW, I'm pretty impressed myself), so they are needed. As a price-conscious buyer (aka broke student), I was happy to get all three for a total of £28. :)

I've got a big dance workshop this weekend, with evening socials every night, so I'll try to document some of my vintage inspired looks. I love swing dancing because it allows me to incorporate both my love of dancing and my love of vintage fashion! :)
